At one of their servers with installed CentOS noticed the lack of CRON in principle, that rather surprised me. But also true - was not.
I had to put a hand:
yum install -y vixie-cron
And run:
/etc/init.d/crond start
Then add CRON startup.
And run:
# chconfig crond on
